Bio:
George Audet is an accomplished young drummer whose passion, discipline, and musicality have already set him apart in both performance and education. Beginning his drum studies at the age of seven with Matt, George has spent over a decade honing his craft. In more recent years, he has continued to refine his technique and artistry under the guidance of the exceptional Mark Charters, gaining invaluable insights into contemporary drumming and performance.
In 2023, George completed his Rockschool (RSL) Grade 8 exam with a Distinction—an achievement that underscores both his technical skill and his deep musical understanding. His commitment to excellence extends beyond performance: despite his youth, George has been teaching drums for several years, sharing his knowledge and infectious enthusiasm with the next generation of musicians.
George’s performance résumé is equally impressive. He spent six months touring internationally as a drummer for the hit musical School of Rock, gaining global stage experience and adapting to the demands of professional touring life. In 2024 alone, he performed in the Australia-wide production of BIG the Musical and played to sold-out crowds at the iconic Sydney Opera House—milestones that many seasoned musicians aspire to achieve.
A graduate of Villanova College, where he led the Drumline and played a pivotal role in the school’s music program, George has now embarked on his next chapter. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Contemporary Drums, at the prestigious Queensland Conservatorium. His formal education continues to enrich his already diverse musical background, blending academic rigor with real-world performance experience.
As a teacher, George delivers the same high-quality course material developed by Matt, alongside the Rockschool curriculum. His teaching style is energetic, relatable, and deeply rooted in real performance experience. With a natural flair for improvisation, groove, and musical flow, he connects effortlessly with students of all levels.
And for those who like their drummers strong in every sense—yes, George can bench press 130kg.
Lesson Prices:
Individual 30 minute Lesson: $37.50 excl. GST
This is the standard lesson length recommended to all ages.
Individual 1 hour Lesson: $70.00 excl. GST
Hour lessons are by far the most effective for most people. It allows a great deal more time to revise, cover new ground and then rehearse – if you want to progress quickly, these lessons are highly recommended. These can be a bit taxing for younger players though, when first starting out the half hour sessions are more than enough.
