Drum lessons for homeschool students in Brisbane
Having homeschooled family members, students and band mates myself, I have seen firsthand the amazing results that homeschooling can achieve. However, since music education is such a specific skillset, it can often be a difficult void to fill for homeschooling families unless the family is already musically educated to a high level. We solved this problem with these two solutions:
1. Flexible Morning Schedule
Most music schools only are only open in the afternoons and evenings; we’re different. Our studio is open during weekday mornings, so homeschool students can take regular school-time music lessons. This means your child can start the day with a fun, structured activity and still have afternoons free for other studies or play. Having a consistent weekly drum lesson builds a routine much like a school timetable, and can be a welcome break from homeschooling at the kitchen table. By learning in-person, students build social confidence and see themselves as part of a learning community outside the home.
2. Homeschool Discount Rates
We offer special school-hour rates exclusively for homeschool students. These lessons are offered exclusively by Matheus Corsi, with sessions booked by homeschooling families during typical school hours receiving a 13% discount, taking 30min sessions down to $40 incl. GST. We’re also happy to discuss lesson frequency and booking blocks that suit your budget and availability.
FAQs:
What ages and levels do you teach? We teach students 6 years and up. Beginners to advanced players are all welcome. Lessons are private, neurodivergent friendly and tailored to each student’s level and goals.
How long are lessons? We offer 30‑minute and 60‑minute lessons. (Most homeschoolers start with 30 min when young, then move to 60 min as they grow).
Do we need our own drum kit? No, we have full drum kits at the studio that each student can use. If your child is serious about drumming, you will eventually want a kit at home (acoustic or electronic), but we can advise what’s best for your space and budget.
Where are you located? Matt Gibson Drums is at Unit 7/1631 Wynnum Rd, Tingalpa QLD. We’re in the complex behind the Wynnum Road Coffee Club; enter from Wynnum Rd and head to the last row of units. Plenty of free parking is available on site during the day.
How do I book a lesson? We offer a blanket 90% off discount for the first 30min lesson with any new student. This can be booked via the link below (just choose a time with Matheus Corsi during school hours), then the homeschool discount can be organised if you decide to continue after the trial.
